A consulting company had a tough problem. Their sales cycle could take up to 24 months because their target market, large pharmaceutical company product managers, were hard to reach and rarely hired for their specialty. To make it more difficult, if they are selected, it puts incredible strain on the company. They gave us 12 months to help them find new leads with that in mind.
Our Unique Insight
When we dug into their business, one of the insights we had was that the owner was unusually connected in the industry. When we asked the principal about this, he said yes, he had been in the product manager role and was well respected in the industry. We used that to build promotional tools that help him amplify his voice.
Result
It took almost a year before results started to trickle in, so we stopped the new work but he focused on maintaining the work we had established. Both sides felt like more progress would have been made, but the investment couldn’t continue to be justified. Not even 6 months later, he was approached by one of the world’s largest pharma companies. The sales cycle took almost one year to complete, but in the end, he won his largest project to date. He gives 100% credit for that lead to the approach we put in place.
